How to post a skydive on Strava

Strava can log the jump. Here's how to make the post show what actually happened in freefall.

Step-by-step

  1. 1Open Strava and tap Add Manual Entry.
  2. 2Set the activity type to Workout — there's no native Skydive type yet.
  3. 3Add the date, time and total duration of the jump. Save the activity.
  4. 4Open UPPOST and pick the Skydive template. Add exit altitude, freefall time, canopy time, dropzone, jump type (solo / formation / wingsuit).
  5. 5Copy the title and caption into Strava and attach the UPPOST image as the cover photo.

Example

Title: Skydive · 14,000ft · 60s freefall · Teuge DZ · Solo Caption: Smooth exit, clean track, soft canopy ride. Number 47.

Common mistakes

  • Leaving the title as "Workout" — non-jumpers will scroll past.
  • Skipping altitude and freefall — those are the headline numbers.
  • Not naming the dropzone. The community looks for it.
  • No photo or visual. The feed favours posts with images.
  • Logging a full skydiving day as one activity. Split per jump for a cleaner log.

FAQ

Can I post a skydive on Strava?

Yes — by adding a manual activity. Skydiving isn't a native Strava sport type, so use Workout. UPPOST adds the jump-specific context that Strava doesn't capture.

Does UPPOST post to Strava automatically?

No. UPPOST generates the image, title, and caption. You attach them to the Strava activity yourself.

Will this work for wingsuit or formation jumps?

Yes. The Skydive template has a jump type field — solo, formation, wingsuit, swoop — so the post reflects what you actually did.

Is UPPOST affiliated with Strava?

No. Independent tool — no partnership, sync or official integration.
